Calibrator v3.3.0

Calibrator v3 change log

2026-10-14 Calibrator v3.3.0

• App should now still be working even if PC hibernates and is woken up again.
• SpeedoCalibration: Hertz to kn values now have 2 decimals.
• CompassCalibration: now also lets you configure the current, in the same way that you did it in the SpeedoCalibration feature.
• TackGybes: Implemented an ‘Explore tack gybes’ window like for phases, available through Menu->Tools->Tack/gybes->Explore tack gybes.
• UpwashAngleCalibration: delta TWD graphs display labels ‘Headed in tacks/gybes’ and ‘Lifted in tacks/gybes’.
• Edit1DTable and Edit2DTable:
  • Now possible to edit table name and enter comments. The table name is also used for importing/exporting to file.
  • Tables can now be imported and exported to and from Expedition format.

2026-09-09 Calibrator v3.2.7

• Fixed bugs when displaying current in vector graph of the CalibrateSpeedo module.
• Fixed bug where tidal current settings were not properly restored when loading post calibration settings at startup.
• Improved management of leeway in speedo and wind post-calibration.
• Edit2DTable: Graph can now display lines by X or by Y (Menu->Options->Graph)

2026-09-04 Calibrator v3.2.6

• Minor bug and UI fixes.

2026-09-02 Calibrator v3.2.5

• Improvement in wind calc algorithm.
• SpeedoCal: Bsp vs heel 2D table can now hold
  • new_bsp (eg new_bsp=5.2 for bsp=5, heel=15)
  • corrections in knots
  • corrections in % (eg 99%)
  • corrections in delta% (eg -1%)

This is set in the BoatConfig window.

• Edit2DTable: fixed an import/export bug

2026-08-27 Calibrator v3.2.4

• Corrected a bug where upwash tables were not always correctly interpolating when outside of bounds.

2026-08-19 Calibrator v3.2.3

• Startup page: for PRO versions, new ‘more’ button below boat selection dropdown allowing you to delete, archive and recover boats (so as to un-crowd the boats dropdown list). When a boat is archived, its data gets compressed to a zip file, and Calibrator ask you to save this somewhere. You can then and then safely remove it from Calibrator. You can recover it by clicking the button More->recover, and loading this zip file.
• Startup page: Developer (isMaster) added quick import of Client debug zip file
• BoatConfig dialog: new menu which allows importing/exporting the boat config json file.
• BoatConfig dialog: In Calibrator PRO, if you have two speedos, one on port and one on stbd, you can now specify if they are triggered by TWA (the default) or by HEEL.
• BoatConfig dialog: Upwash tables and Bsp vs Heel tables: You now have the choice to view those tables as value-pairs (like a Deckman or Herculese upwash file). To activate this option, go to the BoatConfig and make sure you set the option ‘File format: value-pairs’ in each of the relevant tabs. Note that this backwards compatible. If you already had upwash tables in a matrix form, Calibrator will convert it to value-pairs.
• BoatConfig: WindCalculations: User can now specify if wind calcs include leeway or not. This option is set in BoatConfig->Wind wands tab.
• LogConfig dialog: new menu to load/open an existing log config json file.
• TackGybes: Implemented new property isVmgToVmg for tacks and gybes. This is true by default. While reviewing the tacks and gybes, a user can manually set this property to false if, for instance, a tack seems valid for calibration, but we know the exit TWA was not at vmg (eg: the tack is over layline). In that case, we don’t want this tack to be used while inspecting TWA port to stbd symmetry (while calibrating mhu_offset). But we still want to use the tack for upwash calibration. If a tack or gybe is not from vmg to vmg, the TWD should still be stable.
• ReviewTackGybes: Added context menu when right-clicking a tack or gybe to set as Not vmg to vmg. The manoeuvre will no longer appear in mhu_offset, but will still be in the upwash tab.
• CompassCalib: Implemented a better trendline algorithm for approximating the delta(HDG, COG) 360º curve.

2026-07-20 Calibrator v3.1.12

2026-06-04 Calibrator v3.1.4

• Fixed a bug when copying a 2D table to webreport html cell, where one row was missing.

2026-06-02 Calibrator v3.1.3

• Fixed a database query bug while querying upwash tables.
• Calibrator now asks for the UTC offset of the log timestamps, as well as UTC offset of any data imported/exported.

2026-05-22 Calibrator v3.1.2

• Fixed a bug where changing time format in LogConfig created an error.
• Fixed a bug where Calibrator did not deal properly with having two main speedos (one on port and one on stbd).

2026-05-15 Calibrator v3.1.1

• BoatConfig: You can now specify that your speedo calibration and compass alignment offset have values in the log
• BoatConfig: Third option added for speedo base calibration: speedo factor (eg: 1.015 multiplication factor). There used to be only two (herztToKnots and speedo%).
• BoatConfig: Calibrator can now read Faro polars.
• 1DTable, 2DTable When viewing a ‘while sailing’ table, when clicking on the cells, influenced points in the graphs get highlighted (this used to only work if you were editing a new table).
• 1DTable, 2DTable When viewing a ‘while sailing’ table, changed background colour so it’s obvious we’re editing an old table.
• 1DTable , 2DTable: When saving or exporting table, added an extra line-break.
• Work in progress: implementation of calibration files in value pairs format (currently, Calibration only deals with table format for calibration files).

2026-04-20 Calibrator v3.0.13

• Implemented ‘Copy screenshot to clipboard’ for ComapssCalib, MHU_offset and CalibrateUpwash.
• Improved way to select log label names.
• Fixed a bug when reading data.
• Table2D dialog: added import/export WTP.txt format
• Fixed a bug where, if a boat has a port and stbd speedo, they couldn’t both be set as ‘isMainSpeedo’.

2026-04-14 Calibrator v3.0.11

• Fixed a bug where tacks, gybes and phases didn’t show in the Mhu_offset calibration section for very specific cases (multiple mhus, and only some of them have multiple upwash tables).
• Fixed a graph scaling bug in the Mhu_offset calibration.
• Implemented a context menu ‘Reset Scale’ in the Mhu_offset calibration.
• Fixed a bug where MAST_ROT and Mast_Rot_offset did not appear when exploring phases or datapoints
• In Edit2DTable dialog, Calibrator can now import/export from Pixel/Exocet format. But it doesn’t do a very good job yet because it needs to convert it to a table function of TWS and TWA. Standby for a better implementation.
• Added user error messages and fixed bugs.

2026-03-07 Calibrator v3.0.8

• Fixed a database backward compatibility bug.

General

• Implemented MAST_ROT and MastRot_offset (PRO version only) for boats with rotating mast where mast rotation comes into play when computing wind.
• The fact that a tack or gybe has been reviewed by the user is now stored in the database.
• Actual calibration values (like speedo%, mhu_offset, etc…) are no longer in the BoatConfig page. You will now be prompted to check/update those values when you start a calibration session.
• If your calibration was modified onboard while sailing (eg: you modified the mhu_offset, or an upwash table) you can now specify those changes in time. In the previous version, you could only specify a single mhu_offset value for the entire session. You can now specify multiple changes during the day (this applies to tables also).
• While you are in the process of doing some calibration, you can now click Menu->File->Save post calibrations to file. That way, if you re-run the Calibrator on a session (eg: in the event of a crash), you can load post calibrations. This is done by using the ‘Load post calibrations’ at the bottom left of the ‘Load data’ page (right after the lof is loaded, and before you click ‘Next’ to start creating phases).
• Started implementing connection between the Calibrator and WebReports. Please enquire with us if you need this option as it requires a licence update.

Phase creation

• You can now specify that when creating or loading phases, phases should be when there was at least the mainsail and one other sail. This is only in the Pro version, in the case that your electronics has multiple upwash tables which you change depending on which sail is up. To activate this function, go to the ‘Manoeuvres’ tab of the BoatConfig window (editing a boat at startup)
• Tracker now has a wand tool (somewhat like in RaceReplay). The wand can be used to find phases in the phase table, delete phases, or ask the Calibrator to only analyse a specific part of the track.
• On the tracker, you can now right-click a phase for a context menu to popup. It will let you view the phase in the phase table, set the wand where the selected phase is, or delete the phase.

Table editing

• During the calibration process, while editing a new 1D or 2D calibration table, new option to highlight changes. This will highlight the cells of the new table for which you have modified a value compared to the old table. If this is active, leave your mouse over the cell to view the differences.
• Even if a table is readonly, it can now be transposed (Menu->Tools->Transpose)
• Possibility to import tables from database
• When editing a 2D table, Menu->Tools->Rows->Add now lets you enter multiple values at once (separated by semi-columns)
• When editing a 2D table, Menu->Tools->Rows->Add now lets you enter multiple values at once (separated by semi-columns)

Other

• SpeedoCalib: Implemented right-click on a point to view it in the phase table.
• CompassCalib: Implemented right-click on a point to view it in the phase table.
• MhuOffset: Implemented right-click on a phase point to view it in the phase table or delete the phase.
• UpwashCalib: You can now right click a tack/gybe point in the TWD graphs and ask to mark them as invalid.
